ASSOCIATION FOR HUMANIST SOCIOLOGY'S DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD

This award recognizes an individual that has provided exemplary and distinguished service to the organization over an extended period of time. The sustainability of a small professional organization like the Association for Humanist Sociology requires the dedication of its members not only as members but in serving the organization in various capacities. This award is created to recognize and appreciate such contributions.
Any AHS member may nominate someone for this award. Nominations should be submitted in the form of a letter to the Board no later than two months prior to the start of the annual meeting. The letter should document elements of the candidate’s service to AHS and include a list with contact information of other members or past members who can attest to the candidate’s service. Self nominations are not accepted for this award, and nominees should not be aware of or informed of their nomination.      The AHS Board will select the winner from among the nominees. Recipients will receive a plaque in recognition of this honor during the Association for Humanist Sociology Annual Meetings.
